Winter Haven Fire Station 1 opens its doors Saturday, Oct. 10, for free family open house

Winter Haven Fire Station 1 will open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with station tours, fire engines, games, refreshments and a bounce house, according to the city's announcement published Oct. 2. The station is on Avenue G SW.
What the department usually sets up
The Fire Department says it holds the open house every October during fire prevention month as a showcase of its Fire Safety Complex and apparatus. The department's page for the event lists activities including the Fire Safety House, bounce houses, train rides, food and drinks, child safety seat checks, and apparatus and station tours — though this year's announcement names only the games, refreshments, tours, engines and bounce house.
